Hi, lurker here. I really hope I'm posting in the right subreddit. I'm currently a freshman in high school, and it is required for students at my school to do two years' worth of those godforsaken science fair projects. I usually take this opportunity to further my experiences with toxicology research, which I have been conducting since 6th grade. My focus has been the usage of uncontrolled drugs mainly endemic to specific regions in Asia; I started off with S and SE Asia and did my project this year on SW and Central Asia. However, I want to really broaden my horizons this year and begin incorporating engineering into my work, because I have little to no experience. I've been really interested in bioinformatics and bioengineering after seeing some really neat projects kids my age are doing. Of course, any work I need to do should be pioneering, because what's the point in repeating experiments that others have already done so much of? I also should mention I have free access to a full-time CBS department lab. So Reddit, what suggestions or challenges do you have for me?
