I’m afraid I suffered sophomore year. All my other classes I’ve gotten A’s and B’s, heck, I’m about to end this finale semester with nearly ALL A’s and one B. But there’s an issue— I took AP euro and it kicked my ass. I got D’s all terms. Looking back, I’m upset that I didn’t work harder, but I’ve learned my lesson and I’m accepting the consequences. Getting into competitive universities is out of my league and I’m okay with that, I’m afraid I did it to myself. But I still do want to get admitted into universities so I can support myself. I’m an artist, but I’m afraid my parents won’t let me pursue such a career, so I’m looking into other options.
Is there a possibility if I retake a history class to drop the course off my transcript (I’m willing to add that to my schedule) or go to community college for four years, I can still get accepted into universities? I’ve definitely learned my lesson this year, and I want to work my ass off next year and senior year knowing I am capable of getting good grades, just AP classes are just not my thing and I’m accepting that and sticking to honors classes. If anyone has any other advice, that’d be awesome.
-sincerely, a sophomore who is shaking as she types this.
