I had written this in my essay: "Through the unit titled "I am" which focuses on the theme of 'affirming self', the child will have opportunity in the following four components: enhance traditional literacy skills; develop and/or enhance sense of identity and self-esteem through reflections on the past, present, future; create memories and relationships with people who are involved in the project; and discover new capabilities (Ada & Campoy, 2004, p. 39; p. 50)"
The professor's comments: "There should be a proper citation right after 'affirming self', you are not using the page numbers correctly, and there are no quotation marks".
I don't understand why there needs to be a citation right after 'affirming self'? It is from the book, and part of page 39. Also, the four components I had mentioned are paraphrased sentences. None of these sentences are quotes. I don't understand what I did wrong?
