I suspect this is a really easy question to answer. I heard a prof make a kind of off the cuff remark about how he looked at the index of our department and was surprised how high a rank his was. I'm curious to look at it, and think I may have actually seen it before, but I can't for the life of me remember how I did find it.
And I've been trying to find it today and look at some people's h-index's using web of science, but a). I've seen that some of the faculty I've looked up on their have publications not listed -- and important ones that have been frequently cited. And b). I have no idea what a good h-index is and can't out what one in the social sciences would be.
Can someone tell me how to look up impact indexes of people in a department, as well as individual members, and what a good score using whatever metric would be?
Again this is in the social sciences.
